Good alternative to a spa facial - but some tipsDakota Ash
I usually have facial peels done at my friend's spa, but this is a lot cheaper so I tried it. The results are pretty close to an expensive treatment, so I give it a big thumbs up. I had more redness and burning with the home treatment, but that could be because I am not a professional. My skin was smoother and fresher after, and I am very happy with the results and even happier with the price. I do have recommendations that come from having the professional treatments.First, more is not better. This is taking off layers of skin, exposing newer skin. I don't recommend doing this more than every 6-8 weeks (the spa says no more than 3-4 times a year), so your skin can recover before you 'attack' it again. Also, go easy on the scrub. You will be applying the peel chemicals after it, so if you rough up your skin too much with the scrub, you could have a harsher reaction to the peel. I did this the first time and I suffered a bit after the whole treatment. Also, this does not clean out pores, it just peels off skin. So if you have blocked pores, blackheads, etc., a clay mask may be better. If you have serious acne, best to go for other treatments. From what I understand a peel can make your acne problem much worse. This may not be as intense as a spa treatment, but if you have a skin condition, acne/sensitivity/eczema, etc., I recommend testing it on a small area before you put it all over your face.A peel is not the end of your treatment. You have to have really good skin care products to keep your skin hydrated and healthy while it recovers from the peel, so those lines and dark spots you want to get rid of will stay away. My skin is a bit sensitive after the peel so I experimented with a number of moisturizers until I found one that does the best job.Read more ›

I've had glycolic peels at spas and this definitely works as well as the 15 percent ones you get there. I find if you put the granules on a DAMP face not a dry face it works better.....

I am mean to my skin. I smoke, I don't drink water, I use tanning beds, sleep in makeup...etc.I got home tonight and this was on my doorstep. I immediately tore open the box and read the instructions then went to work.5 minutes later, someone else's face was looking in the mirror.I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT believe how fabulous my skin feels and looks. Buy this product and you will feel like you had a facial, seriously. I have used it twice and my skin felt ultra soft. This kit is easy to use, simply rub the crystals on your face for about 1-2 minutes. The crystals are like a salt scrub. Then put the peel serum directly on top of the crystals and rub for about 1 minute (it will feel warm on your skin). Then rinse throughly with warm water. Less than 5 minutes and you are finished! The kit looks like you could use it 10-20 times before running out. Be careful not to get it near your nostrils and eyes. After using this kit, my pores were less noticable and my skin wasn't red like most products will do. For $30, it isn't too expensive and you will actually save money by not going to a spa for a monthly facial.

I love this stuff I had bad skin with spots as well I started using this a few years ago. My mom was using this kit and bought me one for my birthday the best present that anyone whom has trouble skin not severe skin issues just the normal acne and spots. It worked a miracle in just two days my niece said T.T what are you doing to your face it's so clear I just smiled for the rest of the day. I use it every other morning for one month then I switch it to every other night before my shower day and night with a towel. Good luck and you will see a difference. I purchased this as part of an ongoing effort to fade acne scars, but it turned out to be worth so much more. I was so focused on fixing the scars that I barely noticed that years of stress and acne (treated with RetinA) had left my skin flaky, dull, greasy, and generally lifeless. In just a couple of minutes this treatment worked wonders to change this. Scars are less noticeable, but even more wonderful is the radiance that instantly appears in my face. Flakiness from acne treatments disappears and is replaced by a glowing natural blush in my cheeks. I was surprised to see that even my usual summer oiliness is hugely improved. I experienced little to no irritation even those times when I had blemishes actively healing on my face (although I probably wouldn't recommend it for those whose acne is still severe). I had used HQ+ Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional) for scars for months with moderate satisfaction, but had taken for granted that increased flakiness, irritation, and caustic chemical smell were a necessary part of the process. Now I can expect so much more. The product says to use twice a week, so now I can't wait for each Wednesday and Saturday. Even those with no obvious complaints about their skin should not miss trying this product.
